Good Shepherd: No service

Readings: Acts 2: 42-47 John 10: 1-10
Collect: Risen Christ, faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep: teach us to hear your voice and to follow your command, that all your people may be gathered into one flock, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Mid-week services: PLEASE NOTE Internal decoration of Christ Church begins this week. Services will continue as normal, but the church will not be open for quiet reflection during the week.
Midweek Communion: Thursday 9.30am at CC
Place Of Welcome: Tuesday 1.30-3.30pm, CC
Evening Prayer: Friday 5.00pm, CC
The funeral of Jenny Hughes will be held at Christ Church on Thursday 30 April 2026 at 1pm.
Fun on a Saturday Afternoon: 2nd May, 3pm to 6pm, Jubilee Rooms at CC. Entertainment from Black Country poet David Bartlett and Wolverhampton U3A Ukelele Band. Interval refreshments. Tickets £8.00 from Clive Childs at CC and David Hughes at GS.
The funeral of Cicely Stuart will be held at Christ Church on Tuesday 12 May 2026 at 1pm.
Book Club: The new book to be discussed at Book Club is 'Archbishop Sarah Mullally and Ten Urgent Challenges for the Church of England' by Tim Wyatt and others (published by DLT). Book Club next meets on Thursday 14 May at 10.30am.
We are planning a trip to Chester on Saturday 20th June. Cost is £23 per head. The coach will leave around 9.45 am from the Church of the Good Shepherd and leaving Chester around 5- 5.30pm. Unfortunately there is no Choral Evensong as they have a concert in the Cathedral that evening, but there will be a Said Evening Prayer at 4.15pm for those who would like to attend. There is an exhibition in the Cathedral “Threads through the Bible”. It’s a monumental textile art exhibition by Jacqui Parkinson, featuring 44 panels and over 25 million stitches, exploring the Bible from Creation to Revelation. 49 place available so please sign up on sheet at back of Church.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10 – 16 May, this year focussing on Kenya. Please can you help? We are once again seeking volunteers to deliver the red envelopes to homes in our local streets. We also need designated envelope drop-off locations in those streets. For more information, please speak to Angela Williams 310812. Our fundraising efforts begin on Sat 9th May with a Coffee Morning at Good Shepherd Church, 10.30 am start. Fairtraid stall, Jams & Preserves. Come along and bring a friend!
RECYCLING : Please bring in any unwanted spectacles/ sunglasses which will be sent for re-use in countries across the world. Thankyou!
A Rocha Eco-tip for April: Celebrate new life this Easter and have a go at growing something! April is the perfect time to try to grow something edible or, if you are a seasoned gardener, to encourage someone else to try. Salad leaves or herbs are a great place to start.
